Ann Marie Cummings of Brooklyn, NY; Tarrytown, NY; Westerly, RI and Westmore, VT; born on Sunday May 22, 1932 to the late Julia Fogarty Cummings and John Cummings, passed away June 5, 2013. As an educator for the New York City Board of Education, Ann was passionate about making a difference in the lives of students and colleagues. Her work of many years has touched many lives. As her nephew-in-law, Matthew Kratz, recently wrote "Ann is a blessing to everyone she meets, and an inspiration to all on how to live, celebrate and love." Those she leaves behind will continue to embrace the legacy of her joy of life. She was preceded in death by her brother James Cummings and her nephew Peter Murphy. She is survived by her sister Julia Cummings Murphy, her dear friend Dolores Grieco, her sister-in-law Marylou Cummings, ten nieces and nephews, eleven grand-nieces and nephews, and lifelong friends. A superlative story teller, a kind, generous and thoughtful person, some of her favorite things included: children, music, any celebration, Willoughby Lake, and time spent laughing with loved ones.
