KENNEDY--Barbara Jane, of New York City, widow of Irish Ambassador Eamonn L. Kennedy, died peacefully October 11 after a bitter battle with Alzheimer's Disease. She was 77. Born in Manhattan, Mrs. Kennedy was a graduate of Mount Holyoke College and had a masters degree in international relations from Harvard University
. She met her future husband at the United Nations and served with him at Ireland's embassies in Lagos, Bonn, Paris, New York, London and Rome. Mrs. Kennedy's father was William Black, the Russian immigrant who founded New York's "Chock Full 'o Nuts" coffee and restaurant chain, and the Parkinson's Disease Foundation. Her mother was Lillian Mandl Schwarz, former business manager at Chock. She is survived by two children, Helen and Mark, both journalists. She requested no services.
