ABRAMS--Ethel, died peacefully in her apartment on June 9, 2009. She was 94. Born Ethel Kunis in 1915 in Fallsburg, NY, she worked at a family-run hotel as a teenager. She married Leonard Abrams in 1941, and lived for a time in Afghanistan and Liberia. After they returned to New York City, Ethel spent many years working at Associated Merchandising. Always concerned with social justice, she was active in her community and was a key figure in the Lincoln House Outreach program. She is fondly remembered by her numerous nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors. Memorial services will be June 18th at 3:30pm at Riverside Memorial Chapel, 180 West 76th Street, New York, NY.
