KAHN--Henrietta, died peacefully in her home, surrounded by family, including her four granddaughters, on December 6, 2012. She was born in New York City in 1914, the daughter of Abraham and Gussie Berger. Independent and incisive until her final moments, she was an avid chef, opera-goer, scrabble player, painter and seamstress - she mastered everything she put her mind to. At the age of 20 she graduated from Hunter College with a major in mathematics and a minor in physics. She was the widow of eminent plastic surgeon, Sidney Kahn, M.D., and survived her daughter, Barbara Kahn Pollack. She is survived by her daughter, Rhoda Kahn Nussbaum (Samuel). She was the matriarch to five grandchildren: Lisa Shipley (Craig), Jessica Goldberg (William), Jeffrey Kahn Nussbaum (Deborah), Cara Kahn Fudemberg (Scott), and Barrie Kahn Nussbaum. She adored and was adored by her eight great-grandchildren: Sam and Hannah Shipley, Brody, Lucy and Oliver Goldberg, Ada and Sophia Nussbaum, and Jack Fudemberg. Services will be held at Riverside Memorial Chapel: 180 West 76th Street, NY, NY 10023 on Sunday, December 9, 2012 at 9:30am.
