KOURIDES--Dr. Ione Dr. Ione A. Kourides, age 70, died peacefully on October 4. Dr. Kourides graduated from Wellesley College (1963), and Harvard Medical School (1967). Dr. Kourides was certified in Endocrinology and Internal Medicine. Over the course of her career, she: held professorships at Harvard Medical School and Cornell University Medical College; maintained a private clinical practice; and authored or co-authored dozens of articles. She devoted 19 years to pharmaceutical development and medical marketing at Pfizer. She retired in 2009. Dr. Kourides was involved in many organizations including the Endocrine Society and the Hellenic Medical Society. She was a founder of the Hellenic American Cultural Foundation. Dr. Kourides is survived by: her husband, Dr. Charles Zaroulis; Lara, Ryan, and Luke Mattina; Andrew and Lindsey Zaroulis; Christina and J.B. Milnor; Peter Zaroulis; and her brother, Nicholas Kourides. Visitation at Frank E. Campbell Funeral Home, Monday, 6-9pm. Funeral services at the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity, Tuesday at 10am.
