GENNE--John W., 72, of Plainsboro died unexpectedly January 17, 2013 at the University Medical Center of Princeton in Plainsboro. John was a graduate of Rutgers University, served in the Army, and worked for over twenty-five years at National Starch and Chemical Company in Information Technology. John loved to travel and visited over fifty countries. He enjoyed active recreation and had climbed Mount Kilimanjaro. John was a runner for over twenty-five years and had participated in numerous marathons including Boston and New York. Other sports included wind surfing and paragliding. Relaxation included a love of reading and music. John is survived by his wife Therese; sons David and Douglas; Douglas' wife Constance and their daughter Sarah. Survivors also include John's brother Paul; sister-in-law Janie Lee; and their children Michael, Steven and Anthony; sister-in-law Kathleen and her daughters Geraldine, Theresa, Mary, Patricia, Charlotte and Kathleen; Brother and sister-in-law James and Eleanor and their daughters Jennifer and Susanna; and many other relatives. A mass celebrating John's life was held at 10:30am on Wednesday, January 23, 2013 at Queenship of Mary Church in Plainsboro. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in the name of John Genne to the . A memorial service will be held in the spring in Virginia.
