CHARLES GOLDSTEIN Obituary

GOLDSTEIN--Charles A.,

Esq., passed away peacefully on July 30, 2015, at the age of 78. He is survived by his beloved daughter Deborah and son Graham, their spouses David and Ermela, and grandchildren Raphael and Mirelle. He will be greatly missed. A pioneer in the field of art restitution, nothing made him happier than righting wrongs from the past. He was a driving force behind many of New York City's most iconic real estate developments. He was deeply generous in all the ways that really matter and inspired many. He received his B.A. from Columbia College (1958) and J.D., cum laude, from the Harvard Law School (1961). Family will be receiving callers at Frank E. Campbell Funeral Home on Sunday, August 2, from 5:00 - 8:00. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Rogosin Institute: www.rogosin.org

To the family of Charles A. Goldstein we send our love and sincerest sympathies. My wife, Nancy, and I were very close to the Goldstein family in the late 1970's and early 1980's. We lost touch with Charles, Judith and Deborah and only now sadly reconnect due to his untimely passing.

Sincely,

It is hard to picture a world without Charles Goldstein in it; he was larger than life. Charles was my friend, my mentor, my boss at the Commission for Art Recovery - and one of my heroes. I was so proud to be a tiny part of his world-changing work. He will be missed, by everyone who had the honor to know and work with him. Sending my deepest sympathy to his well-loved family.
