Zander deserves to be in the Baseball, Basketball, Football & Hockey for his Complete Handbooks from 1971-1998. This Canadian truly admires the Zander Hollander Handbook Collection that he proudly owns.

His Complete Handbooks were simply HALL OF FAME works and I have them all. Love Zander's profiles on players. So educational to this day and his famous quotes.

While writing for Brief magazine, he accompanied my cousin, Lt. Stanley S. Spatz also of Far Rockaway, on a mission in March of 1945. Sadly, Stanley was KIA on May 5th, 1945. Stanley was quite excited about the article per a letter he wrote to his parents.
Respectfully,

I had the pleasure of working for Zander as a college undergrad in the late 1960's. He was just a genuinely nice person and a great boss. I'm sorry we lost touch over the intervening decades.

He was a special person, a mentor, a devoted family man and my champion professionally -- and he will be missed by the many people who were touched by his kindness and his soft heart. Carry on, indeed
