FERRARO--Geraldine. With profound sorrow Fordham Law School mourns the passing of Geraldine Ferraro '60, loyal alumna, former assistant district attorney, congresswoman, ambassador, and the first female and Italian-American Vice Presidential candidate of a major political party. A New York City schoolteacher, Geraldine attended Fordham Law in the evening and was one of two women in her class. Throughout her career she broke down barriers and inspired a generation of young women. She was fearless in challenging injustice and tireless in devoting herself to those in need. Her life was the embodiment of the School's motto "in the service of others". She will always remain at the heart of our community. We express our deepest sympathy to her family. Michael M. Martin, Interim Dean, Fordham Law School
