MACDONALD FLINN Obituary

FLINN--Macdonald, of Lakeside, Michigan, formerly of Scarsdale, New York, died suddenly May 24th at the age of 88. After serving in the U.S. Army Air Corps in the Western Pacific Air Offensive over Japan during World War II, he graduated magna cum laude from Princeton University in the Class of 1946 and was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. He graduated from Harvard Law School in 1951, then served as a trial counsel for the U.S Air Force Office of Staff Judge Advocate during the Korean War. He had a distinguished career as a senior partner at White & Case in New York. A renowned litigator, he argued and won many antitrust cases, including several before the United States Supreme Court. He is survived by his wife Rosemary, son Andrew, daughter Susan Flinn Cobian, son Ross and two grandchildren, Jasper and Cara Flinn. Memorial donations may be made to a land preservation trust he helped found, Chikaming Open Lands, in Lakeside, MI. A celebration of his life will be held on Sunday, June 3rd in Lakeside.
