SIDNEY MILLER Obituary

MILLER--Sidney M., died suddenly in his home in Del Ray Beach Florida on December 5 at the age of 86. Sid was a top agent at the New York Life Insurance company for over 60 years. An active member of his community in Rye Brook, NY, he served as chairman of the Recreation Commission initiating the development of parks and sports facilities. He was also an active member of the Rye Community Synagogue where he served as President. An outstanding athlete and avid sports enthusiast, he was a proud season ticket holder for the NY Giants since 1955. Sid is survived by Marilyn, his loving wife for 61 years, as well as his children Robert Anne and Jonathan, their spouses Kathy Stuart and Lisa, and his grandchildren Whitney, Sarah, Parker, Nicholas, Philip, Elana, Daniel and Joshua. He will be sorely missed by a large circle of loving friends and colleagues. Donations may be sent to the Miller Family Fund at Rye Community Synagogue: 200 Forest Avenue Rye, NY 10580.

When I learned about Sid's passing, I posted the following on the New York Life Retired Management website:Bill Kelly

*I received my copy of the NYLIC Review yesterday. The edition was dedicated to two iconic agents who passed away in 2013- Tom Flournoy Jr and Sid Miller. I was more familiar with Tom's sons Tom and Carson. Yes, I got cross pens from all. Sid was a well known fixture at the Home Office, always so personable and a credit to the field force. I had seen him at Ken O'Brien's wake less than 2 weeks before he passed away on December 5th. I will fondly remember them both.

Patricia Folan-Webster Sid was definitely a class act. I didn't know he died either. Tom was always upbeat too.
