Never have I heard of the passing of a television actor or actress and felt such a profound sense of loss as I did today when I learned that Virginia Dwyer had passed. Her portrayal of Mary Matthews was one of the most exquisite on all of Daytime Television and the impact she made lived on long after she left the show. A devoted fan of ANOTHER WORLD (1964-1975) I made a powerful emotional connection to all of the characters and have pictures of Virginia in my collection as well as audio tapes of her finest moments on the show. My condolences to her family.
May God rest her immortal soul.

I am 53 years old now, and began watching AW at the age of 12. My mom watched it and I would watch it with her in the summer of the school years, and whenever I could. For many years, Mary Mathews and her family were a part of my family. My love for Mary never went away, and my love AND respect for Virginia as a talented actress never went away either. I will pray for her, and her families loss at this very difficult time.

I remember Virginia Dwyer Gorman's work as Mary Matthews on "Another World." She had such a remarkable genuine quality about her. My condolences to family and those who loved her.

Ginny was a soul sister and cast mate of my mother, Liza Chapman, and stepped in for many years with us, as an incredible friend would, when my mother died in 1967. All of those great trips to NYC to see Ginny will never be forgotten!

She was an amazing woman to have as an aunt. Smart, creative, caring. When I was still young she introduced me to things and ideas that no one else would have thought of. I was lucky to have her in my life.
