I was shocked and saddened to hear of Dan Leab's passing. A great scholar and good man. He was always warm and kind to me in all of our interactions. My condolences to the Leab family.

We will miss him so much ! He was always a dear friend and mentor in the field of American Communist history. So kind and so funny--nobody like him. He will be much, much missed.
