Daniel Rubinstein Obituary

RUBINSTEIN--Daniel. Died November 23, 2008 in Boston. Born in the Bronx, NY. Son of the late Max and Sadie Rubinstein, beloved husband of Janice Grossman, loving father of Lauren, Isaac and Noah, and loving brother of Robert, sister-in-law Barbara, niece Lisa, nephews Kenny and Adam. Grandfather of Sonia. Brother-in-law of Barbara Heft, uncle of Carolyn and Dave Levinbook and great uncle of Reid. A life devoted to helping others, he was a psychotherapist for 30 years. He co-founded the VERA Institute for Criminal Justice, and taught at NYU, Hunter College and Fordham University. Wanting to be remembered as "warrior for animals", he was devoted the humane treatment and love of all creatures. A gentle, warm and caring man who had an extraordinary gift for giving fully of himself, Daniel will be missed by all who loved and knew him. Services will be held at Riverside Chapel, 76th & Amsterdam in NYC. On Wednesday November 26th at 11:45am. Memorial donations can be made to the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation.
