David Braverman, of Forest Hills, New York, died on Tuesday, March 18, 2014 at the Hospice Care Network of Forest Hills Hospital in Queens New York. He was 68 Years old.

He was born on 5/28/1945 at the New York Hospital in New York, NY. He went to James Monroe High School, graduated from the State University of New York at Stony Brook with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and a Master's Degree of Arts in Mathematics from Lehman College at the City University of New York.

He had an accomplished teaching career in Mathematics at Benjamin Franklin High School in New York, NY and Walter High School in the Bronx. He was the author of the Calendar Code, a book on how to be a human calendar using the Mathematics of the Gregorian Calendar.

His is survived by his best friend Gordon Meyer, his stepchildren, Raquel Dixon, Abraham Richter and his beloved wife, Francine Braverman, who inspired him to write this lovely poem:

The Name of the Rose
"Who was She?
Who was this Creature who rose like the dawn?
As bewitching as the moon
Radiant as the sun;
Terrible as an army
Poised for battle"
This rose is my beloved wife Francine Bravermen

His wife,Francine, called him her guardian angel and will honor his wish to rewrite the Calendar Code in memory of him.
