DONALD ELLIMAN

ELLIMAN--Donald M., of Westhampton, NY passed away on February 26, four days short of his 101st. birthday. He was born in New York, attended the Choate School and Yale, class of 1934 where he rowed crew, the genesis of a life long passion. He rowed a single shell until he was 99 and introduced many others to the love of the sport. After four years service in the Pacific in WWII, he left the Navy as a Lt. Commander. Returning to banking he rose to be President of the Bank of NY and retired as an EVP at Marine Midland. His first wife Grace preceded him in death. His wife Yvonne of NYC and Westhampton, his sister Barbara of NYC, his daughter Dale Balfour of Owings Mills, MD, his son Donald Jr of Denver, CO, six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren survive him.
