POLHEMUS--Henry M. Born New York City December 18, 1925, died Southampton, NY December 10, 2009. Harry was the son of Henry M. and Lisa S. Polhemus and the husband of Cynthia Bassett Polhemus. After graduation from Choate, he served in the US Army 1943-1944 and fought in the Battle of the Bulge with the Yankee Division of the 26th Infantry. Post-service, he graduated from Amherst College in 1949. He retired from Marsh & McLennan in 1989 to enjoy his love of the outdoors, coaching and playing ice hockey, fishing and hunting. He will be sadly missed by his friends and family, son Frederick Polhemus, daughter Sarah Bartle, and four granddaughters. A memorial service will be held at St. Ann's Episcopal Church in Bridgehampton on Friday, December 18, 2pm.
