MARION--John Addison, 77, died of cancer at his home in Manhattan on October 14. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Loretta, his daughter, Cyndy, and her fiancee, Vanessa, and his younger brother, Paul. John was born on October 25, 1933, the son of Julius J. and Helen Borden Marion of Maplewood, NJ. A '55 graduate of Amherst College, he served three years in the U.S. Air Force and was a SAC air-refueling pilot reaching the rank of Captain. He completed Officers' Training at Chase Bank; then, in the early '60's he set out to tour the world as a cruise director. He later became an executive and partner in the L.J. Charrot Co. in New York City. John served on the Board of Directors at The Players on Gramercy Park South and was an avid fundraiser for White Horse Theater Co. He is remembered as a loving, supportive husband and father, a loyal and generous friend to many, and a true lover of life. A public memorial visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 18th from 5 to 7pm at Frank E. Campbell Funeral Chapel, 1076 Madison Avenue, New York City. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Amherst College Crew Fund, P.O. Box 5000, Amherst College, Amherst, MA 01002.
