As a frequent traveler to Inida I found her book Dreaming in Hindi to be just wonderful and inspirational. I gave it to several friends who also love India. My condolences to the family. An admiring fan.

Devastated to discover this news today. In our 20s we were good friends and lost touch ages ago. We had fun, Kathy. You were brave. And you wrote a searing book. I should have told you. But others did.

Kathy was such an inspiration to all of us on BCO. We all have hope to be like her - long term survivors! I will miss her yearly posts but have to say thank you for sharing her. She showed us all that we can LIVE with this disease.

As a stage IV metastatic breast cancer patient, diagnosed in July 2011, I only recently learned of Kathy and her inspirational fight against this monster. I wish to send sincere condolences to her friends and family. I hope that you can find some small comfort in knowing that she gives others suffering with this disease hope and the will to fight on. She will never be forgotten.
