ASHWORTH--Lou, died April 30th, 2012 at home in Eugene, Oregon. Born Betty Lou Sawyer in 1920 in Santa Barbara, Lou married the late William Ashworth in 1945. She is survived by her children Margaret Ashworth Wilson, Polly Ashworth, and Warren Ashworth, and a remarkably symmetrical brood of male grandchildren, Peter and Eric Wilson, Geoffrey and Seth Horner, Sam and Jacob Ashworth. Lou worked most of her life, first with the writer's unit at MGM then as Norman Corwin's assistant producing radio shows. Later she worked at Simon and Schuster-in its heyday, then American Heritage Publishing, Vinyard Books, and for many years at McGraw-Hill where she was a senior editor of trade books. Donations may be made to the Eugene Public Library or the Larchmont Public Library.
