DURKIN--Mary Pritchard. Mary Pritchard Durkin, of New York City died on May 1, 2013 after a long battle with lung cancer. Mary was born on January 19, 1941 in Minneapolis, MN and was the daughter of Elizabeth and Manion Pritchard. She is survived by her husband of 38 years, Charles P. Durkin Jr., her son, Charles P. Durkin III, and daughter-in-law, Kristen. She had two sisters, Elizabeth and Anne (deceased), a brother, Thomas, and eleven nieces and nephews. Mary is a graduate of Sacred Heart School in Lake Forest, IL and the University of Minnesota. Following graduation Mary moved to New York where she was a teacher and an independent photographer for a number of years. Mary maintained houses in East Hampton, NY, Boca Grande, FL, and Kempton, PA. She was a member of the Colony Club, Maidstone Club, and the Gasparilla Club. Her interests included bridge, politics, travel, entertaining, water aerobics, dancing, and ice skating. Mary devoted her life to her family and many friends. She was fiercely loyal, deeply loving, principled, courageous and thankful for the many joys in life. We will miss her always. The Mary Durkin Fund for Student Life has been established in her memory at St. Andrew's School, 350 Noxontown Road, Middletown, DE 19709 to which contributions may be made in lieu of flowers. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, May 6, 2013 at 4pm at St. Ignatius Loyola Church, Park Avenue at 84th Street. Interment private.
