Maurice J. Coughlin died on August 10, 2012, at Garvey Manor in Hollidaysburg, Pennsylvania where he lived during the last year of his life. Before moving to Pennsylvania he was a long time resident of New York State. Born in Buffalo on December 22, 1912 he lived in Western New York until 1962, when he moved to Chappaqua, New York. Maurice married Emma Ollary in 1937. They remained together until her death in 1994. Maurice and Emma retired to East Aurora, New York where they spent their final years together. Maurice's professional career began in 1932 at the C.J. Irwin Co., Buffalo, where he rose to the position of manager. He worked at Bell Aircraft in Niagara Falls for many years as Director of Procurement. In the early 1960s he accepted the position of Vice President of International Sales for the Velcro Corporation at its main office in New York City. His extensive travels for Velcro took him to many countries around the world. He was active in the Boy Scouts, serving as Commissioner of the Niagara Frontier Chapter in the 1950s and receiving the Silver Beaver Award for his distinguished service to scouting. He is survived by his children, Daniel Coughlin (Orchard Park, New York), Barbara Saad (Hollidaysburg, Pennsylvania), and Richard Coughlin (Rancho Mirage, California), seven grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren). He had two siblings, Patrica and Arthur, who predeceased him. A funeral mass was celebrated at the Garvey Manor chapel. Maurice was interred at Mount Calvary Cemetery in Cheektowaga, New York alongside his wife.
