GREENE--Murray, M.D.

The Yeshiva University family laments the passing of Dr. Murray Greene z"l, a longtime devotee of the Rabbi Isaac Elchanan Theological Seminary. A graduate of the Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, Greene served as chief cardiologist at the Bronx-Lebanon Hospital Center, where he was instrumental in establishing an intensive care unit. He was a humble, caring physician who taught his students and interns to treat all patients with equal concern and was admired by colleagues, patients and his many friends and fellow congregants at the Young Israel of Scarsdale. Heartfelt condolences are extended to Eileen Greene, his loving and devoted wife of 65 years as well as to his sons, entire family and "adopted families" who, in gratitude for his many kindnesses, often named their children in honor of his deceased parents, Max and Beatrice Greene z"l. May they find comfort among those who mourn for Zion and Jerusalem. Yeshiva University Rabbi Dr. Ari Berman, President Moshael Straus, Chairman, Board of Trustees
