PAUL RANSON Obituary

RANSON--Paul A., graphic designer and animator died June 14, 2010 of kidney cancer. This beloved man came to New York City in 1978, taking US Citizenship in 2008. A voracious, thoughtful reader, he reveled in music and preferred a bicycle to any other vehicle except his 1964 Corvair. He loved to think, talk, garden, cook, swim and dance; vintage suits and hats, cats, After Effects, bamboo, his Pennsylvania LowCostDreamHouse and New Orleans. Survived by Judy Aley, his partner in everything, his adored kids Nat and Ruby Ranson, and family and friends in the US and UK. His Tribe will miss his sharp wit, generosity, rants, enthusiasm for ideas and experiences, french fries and turkey gumbo.

When Paul decided to go to America he went back to his roots, to the land of opportunity! Thankfully he met Judy, a perfect match and blessed us with 2 lovely Grandchildren. We were delighted. He will always be in my thoughts and prayers.

I am very proud of the man that Paul became but in my heart he will always be my little brother and in my thoughts he will live forever.

Paul was the embodiment of a life well lived, and is the example I look to when needing pointers. It's rare to find natural kindness, wit, and intellect unfettered by pretension and ego. I miss him dearly.
