TANNENBAUM-Paul J., Clinical Professor of Dental Medicine, Columbia University College of Dental Medicine, passed away on February 2, 2011 after a tragic accident. Dr. Tannenbaum earned his DDS and a Certificate in Periodontics from Columbia University, and served on our faculty for more than 30 years. Paul was a renowned periodontist, a Diplomate and Director of the American Board of Periodontology, and a member of many professional organizations. He served as a member or chair of numerous committees, including the Executive Committee, Awards Committee, and the Committee on Informatics, of the American Academy of Periodontology. He was a past president of the Columbia Periodontal Alumni Association and the New York Academy of Dentistry. Dr. Tannenbaum was a mentor to generations of students and a loyal alumnus. Our thoughts and prayers are extended to all members of his family. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations in honor of Dr. Tannenbaum to the College of Dental Medicine or to the American Academy of Periodontology.
