Every year that passes reminds me of how perspicacious Peter was in his every vision of the future that is our sad "now." We should have drafted him for President.

Of all the "macro" thinkers who emerged in the last century, Dr. Glaser was the greatest scientist and overall conceptualist with whom I had the honor to work when I was President of the Boston Chapter of the American Society of Macro Engineering and he was VP of Science and Technology for Arthur D. Little. I then became the Main Representative of his Sunsat Energy Council that he initiated at the UN and which I continue to this day in the hope his Solar Power Satellites will one day be realized. In retrospect, what I learned from Peter's predictions in our informal discussions, alone, in the 80's has all come to pass at the beginning of this century. Peter was a great humanitarian and worthy of the word "genius." It was my great privilege to work with him since the early 80's and to enjoy knowing his lovely wife Eva all those years.

I had the honor of working as Peter's Secretary at Arthur D. Little for several years. He was a gentleman and an easy person to work with and always overlooked those moments when I was not at my most efficient....this includes when I, by accident, dropped the Corning Award on the floor and it "squished" into a different shape. Peter smiled with an "oh well" shrug.

Although I am saddened to hear about Peter's passing, I have some sense that his Creator is safely guiding him to a new life. Thank you for allowing us to be part of his journey.

I would like to express my deepest condolences to the family, friends, and colleagues of Dr. Peter Glaser. I first got to know Peter while I was a doctoral student at New York University, and remember how honored I was when he autographed my copy of his book on solar power satellites. I was even more honored several years later, when I was given the opportunity to co-author a chapter in an updated edition of the book. Peter and I also co-chaired a session at a Princeton Space Studies Institute conference. I will always remember fondly his vision, intelligence, humility, and kindness, as he took this young scientist under his wing and treated him as a colleague and equal. Of course, I can never fill his shoes, but can only continue to walk his path and blaze his trail as best as I can, and be as kind and helpful to the next generation of scientists and engineers as he was to me. Godspeed, Peter.

I will always remember Peter Glaser as a gentleman first, and a brilliant innovator second. I first met him in the mid-1990s when he generously helped to introduce me to the concept that he created: the Solar Power Satellite. He will be missed, but never forgotten by his friends and colleagues, and by people who never had the honor of meeting him.

I first met Peter Glaser at a conference organized by Gerard O'Neill in 1975. Both men were far-ranging visionaries and neither saw their dreams of power satellites and space colonies come true in their lifetimes. It's now up to us or, if we can't do it, the next generation.
