RALPH ELYACHAR

ELYACHAR--Ralph. The Yeshiva University family mourns the passing of Ralph Elyachar, beloved husband of Alice. He was the son of the revered Colonel and Mrs. Jehiel R. Elyachar, Yeshiva University Benefactors, who were major leaders in YU's Sephardic Studies Programs, in whose memory Ralph initiated The Elyachar Family Scholarship Fund for deserving and needy Sephardic students, augmented by his nephew, Jonathan R. Elyachar, son of his twin brother, Daniel. Ralph Elyachar chaired a YU Sephardic Cultural Festival many years ago and demonstrated pride in his family's heritage marked by their great grandfather, the State of Israel's Chief Rabbi, The Rishon Le Zion Rabbi Yaakov Shaul Elyachar, ztz'l. Heartfelt condolences are extended to Alice Elyachar, Daniel Elyachar and his sister Dr. Ruth Dvorkin, their children, grandchildren nephews and nieces and entire family.
