HAYS--Richard, MD. Albert Einstein College of Medicine of Yeshiva University is deeply saddened by the death of Dr. Richard M. Hays, a long-time faculty member in the department of medicine. He joined Einstein in 1960 and served as director of the division of nephrology from 1979 to 1988. He made major contributions to our understanding of the mechanisms of osmotic water flow and the response to antidiuretic hormone in the kidney collecting duct. He was also a renowned teacher, earning Einstein's Lifetime Achievement Award for Excellence in Teaching in 2003.
