William Keenan Obituary

KEENAN--William Michael, 70, Boulder, Colorado, passed away Thursday, August 21, 2008. He was born in Robinson, Illinois, to Paul Eugene Keenan and Frances Pauline Stansfield on July 1, 1938. Mike obtained a B.S. from Case Institute of Technology, and M.S. and Ph.D. from Carnegie Mellon Institute. He was a professor and Deputy Chairman of Finance at New York University Stern Business School, retiring in 2004. Mike authored numerous papers, books, and edited works. He served as an officer in several financial professional societies including The American Finance Association, Eastern Finance Association, Financial Management Association and New York Society of Security Analysts. He was an ex-trustee of the Collegiate Church Corporation and Collegiate School of Boys. A devoted member of his church, Mike has served as Churchmaster, Treasurer, Elder, and Board Member for Marble Collegiate Church, New York City. After retiring to Boulder, CO, he served on the board of the Boulder Public Library for one year. He is survived by his sister, Laura Jean (Henry) Pietrzak; niece, Julie Jean (Keith) Moore, a great-niece and great-nephew. Mike was preceded in death by his parents and nephew, Michael Henry Pietrzak. Services will be held Sunday, September 14, 2008, 2:00pm at Marble Collegiate Church, 1 West 29th St., New York. The family requests in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the American Heart Association or charity of your choice.
