ALBERG--Max, former menswear industry executive, died peacefully on October 11 at age 93. Mac was born in New York City to Joseph and Pauline Alberg. He joined Macy's in 1935, then left to serve overseas with the First Infantry Division, fighting in Africa, Italy, France and Germany. He rejoined Macy's in 1945, where his sense of style, integrity and business acumen led to a successful 35-year career; he retired from the men's industry at age 91. Mac is survived by Ursula, his beloved wife of 63 years, children Karen and Terry Grossman, Vicki and Robert Mintz, Paul and Nilda Alberg, Michelle and David Howlett, Scott Alberg; and 16 adoring grandchildren. Mac's wisdom, compassion and joie de vivre will be greatly missed by all. Service: October 13, 1pm, Gutterman & Musicant, Hackensack, NJ.
