ABRAMSON--Roslyn, of Bal Harbour, FL, formerly of New Rochelle, NY and prior thereto of Undercliff Avenue, Bronx, NY, died on February 24, 2011, at age 97, following a protracted series of brief illnesses. She was predeceased by her husband of nearly fifty years, Sam H. Abramson, in 1983, her elder son, Edward M. Abramson, in 2001 and her brother, Harry Fish, in 1955. She is survived by her younger son, David A. Abramson, and his wife, Ellen. Also surviving are three grandchildren, Daniel, Deborah and Marc, and their respective spouses; five great-grandchildren Ezra, Levi, Lilah, Sara and Uval; nephews, Jerry and Robert Fish, and their respective wives and children; her husband's grandnephew Hillel Maximon, and his wife; and Edward's widow, Harriet. Roz will always be remembered for her intelligence, wit, and feistiness and as a champion of the underdog. The family has requested that donations in Roslyn's memory be given to American Technion Society (for the benefit of the Technion-Israel Institute of Technology) or the Parkinson's and Movement Disorder Center of NYU Langone Medical School, in either case in support of research in neurodegenerative diseases. Graveside service and interment at Beth El Cemetery, Paramus, NJ, Sunday, February 27, at 1:00pm.
