BURKE--James E. The Trustees and staff of The Metropolitan Museum of Art mourn the passing of Benefactor and long-time supporter James Burke. Along with his wife Diane, who is an Honorary Trustee and also a Benefactor, he made a series of generous gifts that supported the Museum's fundamental mission in the areas of education, special exhibitions, publications, and acquisitions. They have also served as loyal members of the Chairman's Council. We are extremely grateful that his vision and involvement have done so much to help the Museum enlighten and educate the public at the highest level of excellence, now and in the future. We extend our condolences to Didi and the entire Burke family. Daniel Brodsky, Chairman Thomas P. Campbell, Director and CEO Emily K. Rafferty, President
