Dr. James F. Mullan, loving husband to Mary Mullan, father to Patrick Mullan and Eileen Mullan, passed away on June 9, 2014. James was born in the Bronx, NY to an Irish family, spending his days playing stickball in the streets, and reading for the better part of every night. As a professor of English at Fairfield University for over 40 years, he devoted his life to the written word, and to teaching countless students to embrace and understand literature. More than anything, he loved his family and friends, as well as his three Boxer dogs, Tyrone, Jasper, and Roscoe. He was a man of God, who never missed a NY Yankees or Giants game, and whose wisdom, quick wit, and unconditional love will never be forgotten. In addition to his wife and children, he is survived by Joseph and Kathleen Powers, Fintan and Rosa Powers, Monica and Jerry Meade, his daughter-in-law, Nicole Mullan, and his nieces and nephews, Devin, Cullan, Bridget, and Michael, as well as by many friends and colleagues. In his death, he will be remembered as a kind, generous, and loving man. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
