Both Betty and Dan were such a big part of my growing up, including years after I might have been considered to be an actual grownup. She made us a lot of cookie dough and always had a good serving of no-nonsense advise to go with it. She was my other mom through high school, college and medical school. I will miss her deeply even though we had not had the chance to be together for some time and I hope she is at peace now. You are all in my thoughts at this difficult time.

We have met Mrs. Federman only a few times when she was visiting Carolyn and Albert here in Illinois. We would like to send our deepest sympathy and condolences from across the miles as we will be unable to attend the memorial service.
