KENNEDY--Edward M. The Modern Language Association mourns the loss of Senator Edward M. Kennedy, whose dedication to higher education and the humanities enriched our nation. The MLA recognized his exemplary work in 2003 with the first Phyllis Franklin Award for Public Advocacy of the Humanities.
