ZECKENDORF--Guri Lie, died in her home in New York City on Wednesday, September 22 after a long illness. Born in Oslo, Norway, she was the last surviving daughter of Trygve Lie, the first Secretary-General of the United Nations. She maintained a lifelong interest in the United Nations, and was devoted to the memory of her father and his legacy. Guri Lie married William Zeckendorf, Jr., the son of prominent American real estate developer William Zeckendorf, Sr., in 1956. She is survived by two dedicated sons, William Lie Zeckendorf and Arthur William Zeckendorf, principles in Brown Harris Stevens, Halstead Property, and one of New York's largest real estate developers. In addition to her beloved sons and daughters-in-law, Mrs. Zeckendorf is survived by two grandchildren, Arthur William Zeckendorf III and Jennifer Young Zeckendorf. Guri Lie Zeckendorf was cherished by all that knew her; she will be profoundly missed and remembered with great admiration and love. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, October 21 at 6pm at the Norwegian Seamen's Church, 317 East 52 Street. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to The Trygve Lie Plaza Fund, a memorial for the first Secretary-General of the United Nations at Trygve Lie Plaza in New York.
