MESSINGER--Joan. Passed away on April 25, 2011. Beloved matriarch of a loving family. Joan was married to her devoted husband, Martin Messinger, for over 54 years. Joan's daughters, sons in-law and grandchildren; Daryl Messinger and Jim Heeger, Adam and Robert; Rabbi Sarah Messinger and Rabbi Jeffrey Eisenstat, Ari, Miriam and Rachel; Alice Messinger, Sophie, Jesse and William; Lisa Messinger and Rabbi Aaron Panken, Eli and Samantha; all were blessed to have her as part of their lives. She had a career in Early Childhood education. Her charitable interests included Jewish Camps, education, art, and Westchester Reform Temple. Joan's humor, insight, cooking, and energy were a gift to all who knew and loved her. Services will be held at Westchester Reform Temple, 255 Mamaroneck Rd., Scarsdale, NY on Wednesday, April 27 at 12:30pm. Family requests private burial. Contributions in Joan's memory may be sent to WRT Education Fund or the URJ Eisner Camp Scholarship Fund.
