FRANKENBERG--Alvin, age 87, died on June 25, 2011. He was born in the Bronx, NY on December 30, 1923. Devoted and loving husband of Audrey Sandler Frankenberg, dearest father of Bruce Frankenberg and the late Susan Silverman, and caring brother of Richard Frankenberg. Alvin enlisted in the Marine Corps and served during World War II. A graduate of City College and the New York Law School, he was an Attorney at Law in private practice in New York and Councilman at Large during the Lindsay Administration. Alvin was a long-standing member of the Liberal Party. He was Deputy Commissioner of the Motor Vehicle Department of New York State. He served as Counsel to the New York State Speaker of the Assembly, and most recently as a City Marshall. Alvin had many interests and a great zest for life. He will be missed by many.
