Carol Remes (June 22, 1921 - March 14, 2012). Carol lived a rich, active, and varied life. She was an English professor at Fashion Institute of Technology for many years. She loved the arts and letters, philosophy and language, and social and political thought. She loved to play the piano. She was also widely traveled, from ruined postwar Europe in her twenties, to London and Paris in her eighties, and to many other countries in between. Forward-looking and resilient, she fought to live until she could fight no longer. Carol is survived by a loving family - her sister, Ruth Levine; her children, David and Emily Remes; her daughter-in-law, Naomi Remes, and her son-in-law, Craig Stewart; and her grandchildren, Katie and Nick Stewart and Betsy and Sarah Remes. Her loving husband of 40 years, Andrew Remes, is deceased. We mourn her death and will cherish her memory.
