HELD--Huyler C. of New York City and Oyster Bay, NY. Died on April 16, 2012 peacefully at home at age 87. Survived by nephews and nieces, Russell and Linda Landon, Brad, Charles, Ann (Ellis) and Jane (Rotondi) Woodworth, and by many cousins. Graduate of Lawrenceville School, Princeton University (Class of 1947) and Columbia Law School. Served in USNR 1943-46. As a Senior Partner at McLaughlin & Stern, LLP (and formerly of Turk, Marsh, Kelly & Hoare and Bryan Cave, LLP) he was an active family lawyer until his death. Board member of The Cathedral of St. John Divine, Fountain House, Inc. (Past President), Society for the Preservation of Long Island Antiquities (Past President), The Nature Conservancy of NYS, The New York Botanical Garden, Preservation League of NYS, St. James' Church, NYS Archives Partnership Trust, The John Merck Fund, Eppley Foundation for Research, Friends of Upper East Side Historic District, and other philanthropic institutions. Member of Knickerbocker Club, Century Association, Piping Rock Club, Cold Spring Harbor Beach Club, Ausable Club, Anglers' Club of NY and other clubs. Funeral service at St. James' Episcopal Church, Madison Ave. at 71 St, on Friday, April 20, at 11am. Interment private. For Long Islanders, a complimentary bus will leave from town parking lot next to Oyster Bay LIRR Station at 9:15am, returning after luncheon following service.
