FRANCES BAKER Obituary

BAKER--Frances Munn, A resident of Palm Beach, FL, passed away quietly on Sunday, April 29, 2012. Mrs. Baker was born in Radnor, PA to Charles A. and Mary Paul Munn. She was 95. Mrs. Baker is survived by her sister, Mary, The Countess of Bessborough and by her daughter Pauline Baker Pitt of Palm Beach and six grandchildren, Serena Boardman, Samantha Boardman Rosen, George F. Baker, IV, Joanna Baker, Asia Baker and Callie Frances Baker. She also had six great-grandchildren. Frances spent much of her youth in Philadelphia, Palm Beach and Paris, France. During World War II, Frances served as a Chief Nurses Aide at the New York Foundling Hospital and continued to volunteer there for seventeen years. She spent much of her adult life in Paris and New York. Frances was predeceased by two sons, George F. Baker III and Anthony Kane Baker, and by two former husbands, George F. Baker, Jr., from whom she was divorced, and Peter Bezencenet. There will be a private service for Frances in Philadelphia. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Presbyterian Hospital, 654 West 170th Street, New York, NY 10032 or Drexel University, P.O. Box 8215, Philadelphia, PA 19101-9684.
