KAUFMAN--Felix. Died on November 2, 2012 at his home in New York City. Felix was born on November 13, 1921 to Joe and Eva Kaufman. He was the loving husband of Eleanor for 49 years, the devoted father to Robert, and brother of Albert and Annette. A Captain in the Air Force, Felix served in the South Pacific during World War II. He attended the University of Chicago, where he received three degrees: a B.A., a M.B.A., and a PhD. A retired partner and National Director of Management Consulting Services with Coopers & Lybrand, Felix was a pioneer in the use of computers for complex business applications. He was a man of uncommon intelligence and accomplishment, a devoted gardener, a conservationist, an extraordinary conversationalist, and a lover of life long learning. Felix served on the boards of the Hospital for Joint Diseases and the Open Space Institute, and he was a life trustee of the New York University Medical Center. Felix is survived by his son, Kenneth and his wife, Barbara of Kenilworth, IL; his daughter-in-law Susan Scott of New York City; his granddaughters Rebecca and Emili Kaufman, and Sara Elsasser; and his niece and nephew Carol and Peter Green.
