Some of my best memories of growing up are intertwined with the entire Martin family. So much of my time was spent in their home. I remember Mr. Martin walking among his beloved daffodils and working in the garden. He could be found working in the famous grey barn or downstairs in his book lined study. He always made time for Elizabeth and I and could be counted on for a smile and his wonderful laugh. I send my love and condolences to the entire family-and also my thanks for being such an important part of my childhood. He will be missed but his memory will always go on-Mr Martin once told me that if you love someone you never really lose them.

Ralph was always warm and welcoming to me. He had a great sense of humor. I can think of few people who led the life they wanted to have as he did.

I have fond memories of Mr. Martin from my high school days when I was a friend of his daughter, Liz. I loved visiting Liz and her family and hearing her father's wonderful stories of visiting England to do research for his writing. I send my deepest condolences to Liz and her family.
