HIRSHFIELD--Robin Mitchell Swenson, 62 of New York, NY and Litchfield, CT peacefully passed from our lives on January 21, 2013 at home in her beloved Litchfield after a courageous 27 month battle against brain cancer. Born June 19, 1950 in Queens, NY to Theodore and Helen Mitchell, Robin grew up in Bethpage and Manhattan, NY. She began working for RR Donnelley in 1982 and spent the next 28 years there, the last ten covering HarperCollins. A fabulous dresser and always one to celebrate life, in 2008 Robin met Peter Hirshfield. They married in 2010 and together enjoyed their beautiful home and life together in Litchfield. Accepting her diagnosis with grace and determination, Robin was honored with the 2012 Courage Award from Voices Against Brain Cancer.
