LANDAU--Ruth, 91, beloved wife of 66 years of Herbert Landau, (deceased) mother of Marcia Landau Burkett, and husband Zack Burkett, Kali Landau Hess and husband Narada, Jill Landau Reich and the late Ron Reich, Philip Landau and wife Lori Landau, fiercely loving grandmother to Rachel Hess and Char Skidmore; and Abhaya Hess, Sarah and Nathan Reich and Jake, Eli and Samara Landau, as well as great-grandmother to her most recent joy, Ari Skidmore-Hess. Ruth is also survived by her best friend and sister Judy Sandler and husband Rusty Sandler and many nieces and nephews. A passionately political woman, she was a graduate of Hunter College where she earned a degree in Music. She enjoyed the arts, often attending museums, theater, ballet and the opera. She was also an amateur archeologist, but she loved nothing more than sharing the lives of her children and grandchildren. She orchestrated countless family celebrations that will never be the same without her. Mrs. Landau was an indomitable spirit who will be greatly missed. A private family burial was held on Thursday.
