CASPER--Enid Ruth, 93, died May 8, 2013, surrounded by her children, Jeffrey, Daniel and Lisa. She was predeceased by her husband, Sidney, and sister, Carol. Enid was born in the Bronx to Fannie and Morris Wagner, grew up in Brooklyn, and graduated from James Madison High. She completed bachelor's and master's degrees in Psychology at the University of Michigan, and further studied at NYU. In addition to teaching psychology at CCNY, she taught remedial reading and was a child psychologist in several public schools, including Westbury and Great Neck, NY. After the sudden, untimely death of her beloved husband in 1964, she remained a dedicated and resourceful single parent while continuing to work full time. In her retirement, she discovered a passion and talent for sculpting, and over two fruitful decades produced many beautiful works. When she could no longer wield chisel and mallet, she sharpened the crackerjack skills of her game - bridge. She is survived by her children and her cherished grandchildren, Samuel and Nora, and Sophie and Julia, and she was a dear mother-in-law to Lauren and Josh. Enid was smart, curious, caring and fiercely independent, as well as a wonderful mother, grandmother, and lifelong friend to many. She fostered lasting relationships, including those from her childhood in Brooklyn, her college years in Ann Arbor, and throughout her adult life. All who were lucky enough to have known her will miss her dearly. Donations to: doctorswithoutborders.org are greatly appreciated.
