WEINSTEIN--Jerome J., on June 13, 2013 of pneumonia. A long-time resident of Sands Point, NY, recently of Great Barrington, MA and NYC. Forever beloved and always remembered. He leaves many loving friends and relatives. Born in 1924 Jerry was raised in Lynbrook, NY, graduated from Harvard University and served in the US Army during WWII. Jerry ran, reoriented, and served as President of Apex Plastic Industries, Inc, Hauppauge, NY. Jerry was a plastics industry leader as well as a local government official serving as Trustee and Mayor of Sands Point and then as North Hempstead Town Councilman. He was handily elected four times and was one of the longest serving councilmembers in recent history. Deeply admired and genuinely loved by everyone who knew him, he leaves behind legions of people who remember his kindness, wit, and unfailing interest in the welfare of others. He is survived by his adored and adoring wife Marjorie, son Jon (Ilana) of Port Washington, daughter Susan Dobuler (Kenneth) of Branford, CT and by his loving grandchildren who will never forget him: Diana Weinstein Mark, Rachelle, and Robert; Zoe Dobuler and the late Paul. A memorial service will be held Sunday, June 23, at Frank E. Campbell Funeral Chapel, 1076 Madison Avenue at 81st Street, NYC at 3:30pm. Donations in Jerry's memory may be sent to the Paul A.
