HUNTER--Betty Ann, (Ann Gertrude Zemon) passed away December 22 with her daughters Hilary Hunter and Nancy Marino and son-in-law Paul Marino by her side. Betty Ann was born August 4, 1925 in San Francisco, CA, the only child born to the union of Celia (Rabinowitz) Zemon and Harry Zemon. Betty attended Castilleja Boarding School and graduated from Berkeley High School. She attended the University of Oregon for one year and had fond memories of that time. Upon her marriage, Betty relocated to the New York area and was a homemaker, raising her family on Long Island. Betty Ann leaves grand-daughters Rachel Marino Rainey (Ian) and Arielle Herrera Hunter, her cousin Harvey Kameny (Marty), along with a number of close friends who became her second family. Not a particularly religious person, Betty was very proud of her Jewish heritage and at the age of 80 she became a Bat Mitvah at Temple Sharray Tefila in Bedford Corners, NY. Betty Ann volunteered at Temple Tefilah's nursery school and at Northern Westchester Hospital, where her friendly and generous personality were much appreciated. Donations being accepted by Temple Sharray Tefila.
