I only new Mr Barnes by waiting on him at Island Outfitters in Watch Hil. He was such a lovely man. I am so sorry for your loss he will be greatly missed as you know.

The Town of Westerly Comprehensive Plan is greatly influenced by Chap's membership on the Advisory Committee and its weekly working sub-committee. Many sections-particularly with respect to identifying and preserving "community character"- were written of edited by Chap. His stewardship on this Committee and in the work of the Conservancy were infectious. I will miss his sage counsel.
