I never met Dr. Whelan, but her revelatory work inspired me to write about medicine and I am very sorry to learn that she has passed on to her reward. May she rest in peace with our Lord Jesus Christ and may those who mourn her be comforted.

I was fortunate to work with Beth at ACSH in 1981-82. She was a force for science in a morass of non-scientists who too often express their feelings rather than critically examining the science of various issues. She will be greatly missed.
